I imagine you
in abeyance, not hard
after all, logged from one state
of heaviness to another
we could agree, if that were called for
that it is the sites of our vigilance that
confound us

as we walk unexpected
onto our own stage, and the stations
are only a summary of
our position, only the most obvious
states of our understanding

regard: fire without heat
& the desperate silence of your stamina
my story will not fail without you
but cannot
succeed without you

& why I imagine you at all is not a question
I am expected to answer
